Frustrated with Coatings Quality?

coatings nace niicap Jul 22, 2019

If you're a Quality Manager at an industrial coatings contractor and frustrated by your Quality program, I feel your pain... Quality Manager is a super-tough position. I think the toughest right behind Safety Manager, to be totally honest.

Every company I've ever been a part of, whether as owner or employee, very few people ever took responsibility for Quality - my favorite excuse is when people blame the customer; they didn't give us enough time, enough money, etc. I've even had a manager who was so scared of accountability say "Starting a quality program would bankrupt the company." Crazy!

Why is it so tough?

  • Because everyone assumes Quality just happens - and that is super-frustrating.
  • Because I've never met anyone who enjoyed having to tell people they've made a mistake. It's hard to come across as positive in every case when you're correcting a person or a process unless you've been trained to do it.
  • Because in most companies, Quality is a priority and not a value. priorities change daily and that's exactly what we see - quality is fine until there's a time crunch or a non-standard job and then it gets dropped right to the bottom of the list

If you're at the end of your rope with how to not just improve Quality but make it stick, this might be the right place for you. Not only do we have the plan, but we have the systems, and we care about you succeeding. Come with us and we'll take care of all the details. My team has been involved in NACE and quality processes for decades and are excited to assist contractors who are on the hunt for the next level of Quality - NACE NIICAP Accreditation. - T
